Alessandro Riccio is a Florentine actor, screenwriter, director and acting teacher. According to La Nazione, he grew up in Sesto Fiorentino, moved to Florence in 2000 and began with short films before joining a local theatre group. He founded the production company Tedavi '98, co-wrote the screenplay for the film Pare Parecchio Parigi with Leonardo Pieraccioni, and runs a studio and acting school in Florence.
He is best known on stage for creating Bruna, an irreverent, rough-spoken elderly singer who developed into a theatrical and musical saga with the musician Alberto Becucci. Shows in the series include Bruna, per carit and Le mille e una Bruna, which mix little-known songs, life stories and jokes in the voice of popular Florentine speech. He has also staged the comedy La meccanica dell'amore.
Riccio has been described as an actor-singer with a talent for comic transformation. In 2024, the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death, he wrote, directed and performed Il mio amico Giacomo, a show built around Puccini's music that debuted at the Teatro Romano in Fiesole and is his fourth musical production with the Orchestra della Toscana.
