Über Atlanta United FC

Atlanta United made the playoffs in its inaugural season and won the MLS Cup in just its second year, 2018, giving the city its first major professional sports championship since the Atlanta Braves' 1995 World Series title. The club followed that with the U.S. Open Cup and the Campeones Cup in 2019. It set multiple MLS attendance records along the way, drawing a crowd of 73,019 to MLS Cup 2018 and averaging over 50,000 fans per home match that season.

After the 2018 championship, the club went through a run of coaching changes and inconsistent results through the following seasons. In November 2025, Tata Martino, the manager who led the team to its 2018 title, returned to Atlanta United, with the club looking to rebuild toward another championship run.

Home matches are played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a retractable-roof venue with a capacity of 42,500 that can expand to more than 71,000, making it one of the largest and loudest venues in American soccer.
