Black Veil Brides is an American rock band formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by singer Andy Biersack, who reorganized the group in Los Angeles in 2009 with guitarists Jinxx and Jake Pitts. The band's look, built on black makeup, studded clothing and theatrical stagecraft, draws on 1980s glam metal acts such as Kiss and Motley Crue.

Signed to StandBy Records in 2009, the band released its debut album "We Stitch These Wounds" in 2010, reaching number 36 on the Billboard 200 and topping the magazine's Independent Albums chart. Its 2013 concept album "Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones" reached number 7 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest-charting release. The group's sound blends hard rock, alternative metal, glam metal and metalcore.

Following the major-label release "Set the World on Fire" (2011), the group issued its self-titled fourth album in 2014, followed by "Vale" (2018) and "The Phantom Tomorrow" (2021). Founding bassist Ashley Purdy departed in 2019; the lineup now includes Biersack, Jinxx, Jake Pitts, drummer Christian "CC" Coma and bassist Lonny Eagleton. Biersack has also recorded solo material as Andy Black, releasing "The Shadow Side" (2016) and "The Ghost of Ohio" (2019), and has acted in the film "American Satan" and the series "Paradise City."

Black Veil Brides released its most recent studio album, "Vindicate," in 2026 and remains an active touring act, continuing to perform its theatrical brand of hard rock.
