Über Hypocrisy
The band began as a straightforward death metal act before moving toward a more melodic sound over the course of thirteen studio albums. Its lyrical themes shifted from the anti-Christian and Satanic imagery of its early work toward paranormal and extraterrestrial subject matter, as on Virus (2005) and End of Disclosure (2013), the latter built around conspiracy theories, government secrecy, and surveillance. The most recent album, Worship (2021), blends these recurring themes with darker, human-centered material.
Hypocrisy has toured extensively across Europe and North America and performed at major festivals including Wacken Open Air on multiple occasions. The band continues to record for Nuclear Blast Records and remains active more than three decades after its founding.
