Ohio State Buckeyes Football
Ohio State Buckeyes football is the college football program of the Ohio State University, based in Columbus, Ohio. The team played its first game in 1890 and has competed in the Big Ten Conference since 1912, following an earlier stint in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Über Ohio State Buckeyes Football
The program has won nine national championships by its own count, seven of them recognized by major wire-service polls: 1942, 1954, 1957, 1961, 1968, 2002, 2014 and 2024. Seven Buckeyes have won the Heisman Trophy, including Archie Griffin, the only two-time winner in the award's history.
Ohio State plays its home games at Ohio Stadium, an on-campus venue built in 1922 with a capacity of more than 102,000. The program's identity was shaped by coach Woody Hayes, whose 1951-1978 tenure produced five national titles, and it has continued to compete for championships under later coaches including Jim Tressel, Urban Meyer and Ryan Day, the latter winning the 2024 title under the College Football Playoff format.
