Ohio State Fair
The Ohio State Fair is an annual state fair held in Columbus, Ohio, celebrating the state's agricultural heritage, products, and cultural achievements. It traces its origins to an inaugural fair held October 2-4, 1850, in Cincinnati, after a planned 1849 opening was canceled due to a cholera outbreak; the fair has been held permanently at the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds in Columbus since 1886.

Über Ohio State Fair
The fair typically runs from late July into early August and includes concerts, sports competitions, exhibitions, a horse show, midway rides, and food stalls. Its Junior Fair program hosts more than 17,000 youth participants annually, described as the largest youth program of its kind in the country. The fair has been canceled only a handful of times in its history, during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and again in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attendance has grown substantially in recent decades; the 2023 fair drew 1,006,228 visitors over twelve days, its highest recorded attendance for that span. A time capsule buried on the fairgrounds in 1976 is scheduled to be opened in 2026. Entertainment lineups for the fair's concert series are typically announced in late February or early March each year.
