Ruggero de I Timidi is the stage persona of Andrea Sambucco, an Italian comedian and musician born in Udine in 1975. He began his career as a singer-songwriter in the early 2000s before shifting toward comedy, gaining television exposure through programs such as Central Station, Colorado Caffè and Zelig. In 2013 he introduced the Ruggero de I Timidi character, blending absurdist comic lyrics with light, nostalgic melodies in a style he describes as musica demenziale.
His breakthrough single Timidamente io became a viral hit on YouTube and established the character as a fixture of Italian comic music. He has since toured with theatrical productions including Ruggero de i Timidi Christmas Show, Spruzzi di gloria and Timidissimo Me, mixing music, stand-up and character comedy on stage. He has cited influences ranging from Giorgio Gaber to Andy Kaufman in shaping his blend of music and satire.
