Westside Cowboy is a four-piece band from Manchester, England, formed when guitarist Jimmy Bradbury asked bandmates Paddy Murphy and Reuben Haycocks to start a group at Johnny Roadhouse Music, a local instrument shop; bassist and vocalist Aoife Anson-O'Connell later completed the lineup. The band coined the term "Britainicana" to describe their sound, which fuses American country, skiffle and folk with British indie rock and everyday, wry lyricism.

Über Westside Cowboy

The group cites Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley among its influences, alongside a formative concert by the Irish band Lankum. They released their debut EP, This Better Be Something Great, in August 2025 on Nice Swan Recordings/Heist or Hit, and were named to NME's list of the 100 artists to watch in 2025.

In 2025 Westside Cowboy won Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition, impressing judges Michael and Emily Eavis, and went on to play the festival's Woodsies stage. The band members have described their sound as growing louder and faster the more they performed together, built around four-part vocal harmonies.
