The villages along the Alsace wine route and the old town of Colmar each run their own Christmas market, on different dates and in different formats: Colmar has six markets in one season, Kaysersberg opens only on weekends and Eguisheim stays open daily until 30 December.

Kaysersberg is the one to plan around: it is a weekend market only, so a midweek trip to the village will find it closed. Eguisheim is the easiest to fit in, being open every day apart from 24 to 26 December.
