Maria Capelo

Maria Capelo's exhibition "Névoa vermelha da noite" brings together a series of paintings and drawings that continue the visual universe she has developed in recent years. The works feature intense landscapes, dense atmospheres, trees, mountains, terrain lines, and dramatic skies, balancing nature, memory, and imagination.

The exhibition is spread across two spaces within the Bairro Alto Hotel. Four large-format paintings (180 x 195 cm) are installed in the hotel gallery, while smaller drawings (45 x 68 cm) occupy the Mezzanine—a space designed as a living room or library, where vintage pieces, books, carefully selected objects, and contemporary Portuguese art coexist naturally. This setting reinforces the hotel's connection to contemporary Portuguese art.
