Sweet Crude & Rusty Lazer presented by Big Easy Whiskey

Sweet Crude brings its theatrical, bilingual synth-pop home to New Orleans for a night at Gasa Gasa. Born and raised in Louisiana, the band channels the culture and vitality of their native state through music that is equal parts bouncy, brooding, and ferocious. Following their album Officiel//Artificiel, they have kept up a steady run of singles and EPs, including 'Take it Back' featuring Big Freedia.

More recently, the group has turned to the Franco-Creole songbook, reimagining old favorites in a modern pop style, with a version of the classic 'Jolie Blonde' among these reworkings. Sweet Crude also took part in Musique(s)!, a Library of Congress-supported project spanning an album, a book, and a documentary celebrating Louisiana artists who sing in the state's heritage languages. It is a homecoming set rooted in the sounds and languages of Louisiana.
