The Tollwood Winter Festival transforms Munich's Theresienwiese into a vibrant cultural hub from late November through December. This semi-annual event, running since 1991, combines a Christmas market with a diverse program of music, theatre, and art. Visitors can explore the "Markt der Ideen" (marketplace of ideas) and the "Weltsalon," a platform for social and environmental discussions featuring notable speakers.
The festival grounds host a wide range of musical styles, from rock and singer-songwriter to jazz and blues, alongside theatrical performances and visual art installations. Many cultural events offer free admission, reflecting the festival's commitment to accessibility and ecological consciousness.
