This autumn, the Casal de Barri Can Travi in Barcelona's Vall d'Hebron neighbourhood hosts a workshop dedicated to castanyoles, the traditional percussion instruments. Over a series of sessions, participants can learn to play these wooden clappers, a staple of Catalan folk music and dance. The workshop is part of the centre's autumn programme, which also includes a world dance show and a guitar recital.
The sessions take place at the community centre on Avinguda Cardenal Vidal Barraquer, a venue that is accessible for people with physical disabilities. The workshop offers a hands-on way to connect with local culture, set in the vibrant community life of Horta-Guinardó.
