Música Madre - Retiro

Música Madre brings the expressive sound of the double bass to the heart of Madrid's Retiro Park. Led by Argentine-born composer and bassist Lila Horovitz, the trio — completed by Ana Maou on violin and Raúl Kiokio on guitar — blends contemporary jazz with Argentine roots music. Their repertoire evokes the spirit of Astor Piazzolla, candombe, zamba, and ballad, even weaving in an unexpected Andean-rooted blues.

Part of the Multiculturas festival, this concert celebrates cultural diversity across Madrid's districts. The intimate setting of the Centro Cultural Casa de Vacas, located in the park, offers a close-up experience of a project that merges writing and improvisation in a warm, expressive style. Suitable for all ages (recommended minimum 6 years), it's a chance to discover a distinctive voice in the European tango and Piazzolla scene.
