Les Arts Florissants, the celebrated early-music ensemble founded by William Christie in 1979, returns to the Philharmonie de Paris for an evening of grand motets. This quintessentially French genre, expanded from the smaller motet into a lavish form featuring double or grand choirs, was championed by Lully and later enriched by Delalande, Charpentier, Campra, and Mondonville. The ensemble has been instrumental in reviving these works, unearthing new treasures nearly every season.

Under Christie's direction, the musicians and soloists of Les Arts Florissants bring the splendor of the French Baroque to life.
