Belfast

Belfast is a compact, post-industrial city still working out its identity in public — peace walls and political murals sit a few streets from a booming waterfront rebuilt around Titanic heritage. The Titanic Belfast museum stands on the actual slipway where the ship was built, and the Cathedral Quarter's cobbled pubs carry a warm, wisecracking local character that feels unpolished in a good way. It's history you can touch rather than a themed re-enactment of it.
