Ħal-Għaxaq celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady on Friday 14 August 2026, one of several villages marking the Assumption in the same mid-August window. Streets are decorated with banners and lights, and marching bands play through the village during the day.
A procession carries the statue of the Virgin Mary through the streets, followed after dark by a fireworks display. Market stalls sell Maltese nougat, pastries and other festa food. Entry to the feast is free.
