This exhibition at the Museu do Aljube – Resistência e Liberdade focuses on the experience of women who were political prisoners under the Portuguese dictatorship. It explores how they resisted, survived torture and imprisonment, and who supported them.
The display is a tribute to their legacy, courage, and inspiration. Curated by Rita Rato, with research and texts by Beatriz Tavares, Francisco Bairrão Ruivo, and Rita Rato, the exhibition continues the museum's programming on women's struggles against the old regime.
