Frida Orupabo brings her first solo exhibition in Portugal to the MAC/CCB in Lisbon, presenting *Cloud of Confusion* — a powerful meditation on the circulation, archive, and meaning of images in the digital age. The Norwegian artist, known for working with found photographs collected online, builds a visual universe marked by tensions between intimacy and violence, memory and erasure, identity and representation.

Curated by Marta Mestre, the exhibition establishes a direct dialogue with the museum's architecture, unfolding across eight moments that evoke the continuous movement of navigating between screens. Inspired by Orupabo's vast image archive, the show explores what the artist describes as the “abyss” of images: their strangeness, fragmentation, and capacity to generate multiple readings. The title simultaneously references the digital cloud and the nebula of information, memory, and forgetting that characterizes contemporary experience.

Orupabo's work — which also engages with themes of race, belonging, and the body — has been shown internationally, including at the 58th Venice Biennale and the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo. This exhibition offers a rare chance to experience her layered collages and video installations in a setting designed to mirror the digital flow of images.
