This production of August Strindberg's "O Pai" (The Father), directed by Gonçalo Waddington, brings a powerful drama to the stage of São Luiz Teatro Municipal in Lisbon. The play follows a freethinking man whose marriage unravels into a bitter power struggle with his wife, Laura, over the upbringing of their daughter. As Laura schemes to drive her husband to madness by questioning his paternity, the tension escalates into a gripping psychological battle.
The cast includes Carla Maciel, Cecília Borges, Gonçalo Waddington, Hugo Narciso, Joana Bárcia, João Pedro Vaz, and Miguel Sopas. Performances run from September 16 to 27, with audio-described sessions on the 25th and 27th.
