Ancestral Tongue with Josephine Alphonso & Isaac Scuvotti

Ancestral Tongue is the project of singer-songwriter and pianist Roqué Marcelo, whose experimental songs weave emotional stories around identity, love, belonging, and personal freedom. Drawing on pop, jazz, classical, folk, Latin, and blues, the music blends the musical traditions of the past with a present-day approach.

Josephine Alphonso and the Peachy Fiends bring americana and indie folk, while singer-songwriter Isaac Scuvotti rounds out the bill with his own folk sound. Together they offer a lineup of story-driven songwriting in an intimate New Orleans setting at The Den at Howlin' Wolf.
