SplinterMount & ME::YOU at Treelawn Social Club

SplinterMount and ME::YOU share a bill at Treelawn Social Club, an evening of free jazz and post-punk experimentation. SplinterMount, a quartet of cello/voice, bass, sax, and piano, grew out of the monthly Outlab improv sessions at Cleveland's Bop Stop. Their sound layers free improvisation with a constant push against its boundaries, and they've opened for artists like Tatsuya Nakatani and Jessica Pavone.

ME::YOU, the duo of LaToya Kent and RA Washington, emerged from years of collaboration in Mourning [A] BLKstar. Their work draws on post-punk, industrial music, dub, hip-hop, free improvisation, noise, and Black vernacular traditions, foregrounding improvisation and minimal production. Expect an intimate, boundary-blurring set that explores the expressive potential of the voice.
