Since 1986, The Bluebird Cafe has hosted its weekly Writers Night, a showcase for up-and-coming songwriters who have earned their spot through a Bluebird audition. Each performer plays a three-song set in the club's intimate listening room, a space designed to let songwriting take center stage. Comedian and songwriter Steve Goodie hosts the evening, keeping the momentum going between sets.

The room itself is part of the experience — 18 tables, 8 bar seats and 8 pew-style seats up front, with more pew seating on a first-come basis at the door. It's a true listening-room night, backed by the Recording Industry Association of America, and a genuine window into Nashville's next generation of writers.
