Em Julho na Quinta Pedagógica

Every Saturday in July, the Quinta Pedagógica dos Olivais opens its gates for a hands-on journey into rural life, right in the heart of Lisbon. Visitors can explore the farm's orchards, meadows, and kitchens, meeting over 80 animals and learning about traditional Portuguese farming practices. The program changes weekly, covering everything from bread-making and sheep care to herbal remedies and seasonal fruit tasting.

Each session offers a unique activity: on July 4th, families can join the "Ciclo do Pão" to see how bread is made from scratch. July 11th focuses on sheep welfare and wool processing, while July 18th invites guests to taste fresh fruits and vegetables from the farm's garden. The month closes on July 25th with a jam-making workshop in the farm's kitchen, where participants can create their own preserves.

This is a perfect outing for families and anyone curious about sustainable agriculture and rural traditions. The farm's small scale means most tasks are done by hand, offering an authentic experience of daily chores like feeding animals, tending crops, and maintaining green spaces. All activities are free but require advance registration.
