Anastacia is an American singer born in Chicago in 1968. After working as a dancer and backing vocalist through the 1980s and early 1990s, she launched her solo career with the 2000 single "I'm Outta Love," which topped charts internationally and introduced her debut album, Not That Kind.
Her music blends pop, rock and soul, a combination she has described as "sprock," carried by a powerful voice that contrasts with her small frame. Her 2004 self-titled album remains her most commercially successful, and the single "Left Outside Alone" spent fifteen weeks at number one across Europe. She has continued to record and tour after being treated for breast cancer on two occasions.
