GWAR
Gwar is an American heavy metal band formed in 1984 in Richmond, Virginia, emerging from a merger of the punk band Death Piggy and an art collective known as the Slave Pit. The band built its identity around an elaborate science-fiction mythology performed in costume, blending thrash and crossover metal with theatrical shock rock.

Acerca de GWAR
Studio albums including Scumdogs of the Universe (1990), America Must Be Destroyed (1992) and This Toilet Earth (1994) established Gwar's sound and satirical, sci-fi-inflected songwriting, with the band continuing to release new material such as The New Dark Ages in 2022. The current lineup includes Mike Derks (Balsac the Jaws of Death), Brad Roberts (Jizmak Da Gusha), Michael Bishop (Blöthar the Berserker), Casey Orr (Beefcake the Mighty) and Tommy Meehan.
A Gwar performance centers on costumed characters acting out violent, satirical set pieces drawn from the band's fictional universe, in which effigies of celebrities and public figures are frequently destroyed on stage. The spectacle sprays audiences with colored fluid representing blood and other substances, a signature that has defined the band's live shows for decades.
Through numerous lineup changes and the deaths of founding members over the years, Gwar has maintained its theatrical concept, continuing to tour and record while treating each album as another chapter in its ongoing mythology.
