Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football team based in Seattle, Washington, and a member of the NFC West division of the National Football League. Founded in 1976 by the Nordstrom family and Herman Sarkowsky as the league's 28th franchise, the team took its name from a public naming contest that drew more than 20,000 entries.

Acerca de Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks reached the playoffs for the first time in 1983 under coach Chuck Knox and won their first division title in 1988. A second resurgence under coach Mike Holmgren brought a division title in 1999 and the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance, a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL. Under coach Pete Carroll, the Seahawks built the "Legion of Boom" defense and reached back-to-back Super Bowls, defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII to win their first championship before losing Super Bowl XLIX to the New England Patriots the following year.
The Carroll era produced five consecutive seasons of at least ten wins and re-established the franchise as a perennial contender in the NFC. The team briefly competed in the AFC West during its first two decades before rejoining the NFC in 2002.
Under head coach Mike Macdonald, hired in 2024, and quarterback Sam Darnold, the Seahawks posted a franchise-best regular-season record in 2025, won the NFC West as the conference's top seed, and defeated the Patriots to win Super Bowl LX, the franchise's second championship.
