St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals are a Major League Baseball team based in St. Louis, Missouri. The franchise was founded in 1882 as the St. Louis Brown Stockings, joined the National League in 1892, and adopted the Cardinals name around 1900 after switching its uniform trim to scarlet red.

The Cardinals have won 11 World Series titles, second only to the New York Yankees, and 23 National League pennants, making them one of the most successful franchises in the sport's history. Their success is credited in part to the farm system built by executive Branch Rickey after he joined the club's front office in 1925.
The team's first World Series title came in 1926 against the Yankees, and its most recent came in 2011.
