Le Mans
Le Mans is best known worldwide for the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, held each June at the Circuit de la Sarthe, but it also holds a well-preserved medieval old town, the Cite Plantagenet, with half-timbered houses and a Gothic-Romanesque cathedral behind its Gallo-Roman walls.
