Cipher — Norwegian jazz

Cipher, a new Norwegian jazz quartet, brings their debut album to the intimate 38Riv Jazz Club in the heart of the Marais. The group, formed by four active voices on the Scandinavian jazz scene, explores a coded musical language born from years of playing together in various formations. Their sound is built on intuitive phrasing, rhythmic placement, and improvisational reflexes, creating a shared vocabulary that shapes both their live performances and compositions.

Attendees can expect an evening of innovative jazz from a quartet that thrives on collective energy and mutual curiosity. The lineup features Martin Nodeland on guitar, Emil Norman on drums, Andreas Svabø on double bass, and Erlend Kongtorp on saxophone. The 38Riv Jazz Club, a cozy venue dedicated to jazz and improvised music, provides the perfect setting for this exploration of a unique musical code.
