Le Birgit Kabarett #7: Political Cabaret in Paris

Le Birgit Ensemble returns with the seventh edition of their political cabaret, staged at the Maison des Métallos in Paris. Blending theatre, music, and satire, the show draws on real electoral news to create a lively, irreverent portrait of the political scene. Inspired by Bertolt Brecht and the sharp wit of "Les Guignols de l'info," the performance offers a cathartic escape just days before the first round of the 2027 presidential election.

Four actresses and singers, two mistresses of ceremony, and two musicians lead the audience through sketches, songs, and interactive games. From fiery campaign rallies to the hushed corridors of power, the ensemble skewers political figures, tics, contradictions, and squabbles with humor and bite. The result is a sensitive yet subjective snapshot of our times, balancing burlesque and satire to create a shared space for laughter and reflection.

Beyond the main show, the venue offers a tactile tour of the set for visually impaired attendees on April 2, and a workshop on free speech based on Thomas Hochmann's book "On ne peut plus rien dire" on April 7.
