Carnival city on the Kvarner bay
Rijeka is Croatia's main seaport, an industrial and shipbuilding city on Kvarner Bay rather than a preserved old town. Its draws are the Korzo promenade, Trsat Castle above the city and the country's largest carnival, plus ferry links to Kvarner islands such as Cres and Rab.
