Ħaż-Żabbar celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Graces on Sunday 13 September, one of the larger feast days on the Maltese religious calendar. Marching bands parade through the town, and streets and squares are decorated with flags, bunting and religious statuary. In the evening, the statue of Our Lady is carried through the streets accompanied by hymn-singing and band music.
The parish church is a pilgrimage site year-round, which gives the September feast added weight locally. Food stalls sell imqaret, qubbajt, pastizzi and other Maltese favourites, and the day closes with fireworks over the town.
