BIIRD in Boston on September 9, 2026

BIIRD is an all-female Irish folk music collective formed in 2024 by seven-time All-Ireland champion Lisa Canny. The 11-piece group made their debut on St Patrick's Day 2024 to a crowd of 10,000 at Trafalgar Square in London, and have since appeared at festivals including Belfast TradFest, Galway International Arts Festival, and All Together Now. They've also performed on Irish talk show The Late Late Show.

Known for blending traditional Irish music with contemporary styling, BIIRD has gained significant attention. In 2025, they joined Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour as a support act in New Zealand, Australia, and North America alongside fellow Irish acts Amble and Aaron Rowe. In May 2026, they were announced as a support act for Westlife's 25th Anniversary World Tour. The band is currently working on their debut album at Decoy Studios in Suffolk, partially funded by Ed Sheeran. Their upcoming Boston performance promises an energetic showcase of Irish tradition reimagined.
