Chris Housman is a country singer-songwriter from western Kansas who now lives in Nashville. Growing up on a cattle farm outside Dodge City, he played fiddle and sang country classics with his family band at a local Wild West show. He came out at 18, and his music has since centered on gay themes within a country framework — from a breakup song written without any gendered pronouns to tracks that explore gay romance in rural settings.

His single 'Blueneck' topped the iTunes country chart and went viral on TikTok, picking up a GLAAD Award nomination for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist. Another highlight, 'Drag Queen', was released in support of the LGBTQ community and filmed in a Nashville gay bar, with royalties donated to an LGBT youth nonprofit. His sophomore album, Dodge City, draws on the experience of leaving his Kansas hometown and the questions he long tried to avoid.
