Eagles of Death Metal

Eagles of Death Metal bring their signature blend of bluesy rock and punk irreverence to Chicago. Despite the deliberately humorous name, the band’s sound is a kinetic fusion of slide guitar, stomping rhythms, and raw vocals—far removed from death metal. Frontman Jesse Hughes leads the charge with an energetic stage presence that has become the hallmark of their live shows.

Founded in Palm Desert, California, in 1998 by Hughes and Josh Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age), the band quickly developed a cult following with albums like Peace, Love, Death Metal and Death by Sexy. While Homme rarely performs live due to his other commitments, the current touring lineup—featuring Hughes on vocals, Leah Bluestein on drums, Scott Shiflett on guitar, Jennie Vee on bass, and Rex Roulette on guitar—delivers a tight, high-voltage performance.

Attendees can expect an evening of raw rock ’n’ roll, with Hughes’s charismatic banter and crowd engagement creating an intimate yet explosive atmosphere. Their debut album included songs used in commercials for brands like Ask.com and Nissan, and tracks have appeared in films such as Thank You for Smoking and Grindhouse.
