Slothrust in Boston

Slothrust is an American alternative rock band from Boston, formed in 2010. The duo of Leah Wellbaum (vocals, guitar) and Will Gorin (drums) met at Sarah Lawrence College, aiming for a heavy sound. Their name combines Wellbaum's earlier project 'Slothbox' with 'rust' to evoke the passage of time.

The band's debut album 'Feels Your Pain' (2012) included the theme for FX's 'You're the Worst'. Subsequent albums 'Of Course You Do' (2014) and 'Everyone Else' (2016) showcased a maturing sound, with the latter exploring dreams and water. After signing with Dangerbird Records, they performed at Lollapalooza and toured extensively. Their 2018 album 'The Pact' was followed by a two-month tour. In 2023, they released the EP 'I Promise' to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of 'Of Course You Do'.
