Tony Vega is a Music / Latin / Latin event at United Palace in New York.
Tony Vega was a Puerto Rican American Thoroughbred jockey who rose to national prominence in the early 1980s. He set numerous records, including becoming the first apprentice jockey to win the riding title at Monmouth Park and the first to win 100 races in a single meet. His standout season was especially remarkable, topping the apprentice jockey standings and earning runner-up for the Eclipse Award.
Beyond the racetrack, Vega was a community activist and a self-taught martial artist. His journey from a dishwasher in New Brunswick to a champion jockey inspires many. This event in New York shines a light on his extraordinary life and career.
He began as a dishwasher and was discovered by a trainer after watching the Kentucky Derby.
