Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue bring New Orleans brass-band culture to Charlotte, with Abraham Alexander also on the bill. Bandleader Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews grew up in the Tremé neighborhood and started leading brass-band parades as a child; his music blends rock, pop, jazz, funk, and hip hop. The result is a set rooted in second-line tradition and aimed at contemporary rock and funk fans.

The band has toured Australia, North America, Europe, Japan, and Brazil, and has opened for Jeff Beck in the UK and Dave Matthews Band in the US. Expect a rhythm-heavy, horn-driven show in a general-admission, standing-room-only venue—close to the stage and built for a crowd that wants to move.
