Hot Mess: A New Musical is a stage musical created by Jack Godfrey and Ellie Coote, the writing team behind the musical 42 Balloons. The show reimagines the climate crisis as a romantic relationship between Earth and Humanity, tracing their courtship and eventual breakup through an original pop score.

Hot Mess premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025, where it won the Scotsman Fringe First Award and the Musical Theatre Review Best Musical Award; Godfrey and Coote also received the Popcorn Writing Award. The production subsequently ran at Southwark Playhouse before transferring to The Other Palace in London.
