Konstantin Wecker is a German singer-songwriter, composer, author and actor, born on 1 June 1947 in Munich. He received classical training on piano, violin and guitar and entered the cabaret (Kleinkunst) scene in the late 1960s. His first studio album, Die sadopoetischen Gesänge des Konstantin Amadeus Wecker, was released in 1973.

His breakthrough came in 1977 with the album Genug ist nicht genug, which won him the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis. Its ballad Willy, about a friend killed by right-wing extremists, became his best-known song. He has released more than forty albums, including Wut und Zärtlichkeit (2011), Poesie und Widerstand (2017) and Utopia (2021), and has collaborated with Hannes Wader, Reinhard Mey, Joan Baez and Mercedes Sosa.

Wecker has also composed film music, including for Schtonk! and Kir Royal, and wrote the music for musicals such as Faust. Der Tragödie erster Teil. He has been publicly active against right-wing extremism and war, and founded the independent label Sturm & Klang in 2013. His honours include the Kurt-Tucholsky-Preis (1995), the Bayerischer Filmpreis (2010), the Göttinger Friedenspreis (2018) and the Hermann-Sinsheimer-Preis (2021).
