Pink Martini
Pink Martini is an American musical ensemble, often described as a "little orchestra," founded in 1994 in Portland, Oregon, by pianist Thomas Lauderdale. Lauderdale started the group to provide music for political fundraising events, and recruited Harvard classmate China Forbes the next year as co-lead vocalist.

À propos de Pink Martini
The band's sound draws on classical, Latin, jazz and traditional pop, performed across more than a dozen languages despite Forbes' own monolingual English background. Its 1997 debut album, "Sympathique," earned nominations at France's Victoires de la Musique awards, and later releases including "Hang On Little Tomato" (2004) and "Hey Eugene!" (2007) achieved gold certification in multiple countries. Pink Martini has sold more than 3 million albums worldwide on its own label, Heinz Records.
The group made its European debut in 1997 and its first performance with a symphony orchestra in 1998, and has since performed with more than 50 orchestras internationally. Storm Large later joined as a second co-lead vocalist, and the band has collaborated with artists including Rufus Wainwright and Carol Channing. In 2014, Pink Martini was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame.
The ensemble continues to tour internationally, performing club-style shows and full orchestral concerts, with Lauderdale and Forbes remaining its core creative partnership.
