Rod Stewart is a British vocalist known for a distinctive raspy voice, who started out busking with a harmonica in the early 1960s before joining the Jeff Beck Group in 1967. His catalogue moves across rock, soul, folk rock, disco and traditional pop standards.
Every Picture Tells a Story (1971), led by the hit "Maggie May", is among his best-known records, alongside singles such as "Sailing" and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?". He has sold more than 120 million records and holds a Guinness World Record for the largest free concert audience, 3.5 million people on Copacabana Beach in 1994.
