Shinedown
Shinedown is an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001 by vocalist Brent Smith after his previous band, Dreve, was dropped by Atlantic Records. The original lineup included bassist Brad Stewart, guitarist Jasin Todd, and drummer Barry Kerch; the current lineup pairs Smith and Kerch with guitarist Zach Myers and bassist Eric Bass.

The band's sound draws on hard rock, alternative metal, post-grunge, and pop rock. Its albums include Leave a Whisper (2003), The Sound of Madness (2008), the concept album Attention Attention (2018), Planet Zero (2022), and Eight (2026), with The Sound of Madness standing as its best-selling release to date.
Shinedown has placed 23 singles at number one on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and sold more than ten million records worldwide. In 2021, Billboard ranked the band first on its list of Greatest of All Time Mainstream Rock Artists, and its single "Second Chance" reached number seven on the Hot 100.
The band continued to add to its accolades in 2025, winning iHeartRadio Music Awards for Rock Artist of the Year and Rock Song of the Year.
