Slayyyter is the stage name of American singer and songwriter Catherine Grace Garner, born September 17, 1996, in Kirkwood, Missouri. She adopted the name, taken from a character in the film Dazed and Confused, for a consistent online persona, releasing her debut single "BFF," made with collaborator Ayesha Erotica, on SoundCloud in 2018.
Her self-titled 2019 mixtape established a maximalist, sample-heavy electropop sound initially associated with the hyperpop scene, though she has said she wants to be regarded primarily as a pop vocalist. She followed it with the studio albums Troubled Paradise (2021), Starfucker (2023) and Worst Girl in America (2026), alongside singles including "Cannibalism!," "Crank" and "Old Technology."
Her music blends synth-pop and dance-pop production with brash, sex-positive lyricism, and she has collaborated with artists including Charli XCX, Kesha and Big Freedia.
Based in Brooklyn, Slayyyter has performed on The Tonight Show and made her Coachella debut, a performance widely reported as a breakout moment in her career.
