The Barcelona International Carillon Festival brings a rare musical experience to the heart of the city's Gothic Quarter. Each summer, the festival transforms the Palau de la Generalitat's courtyard and Gothic Gallery into an open-air concert hall, where the sounds of the palace's 49-bell carillon drift through the historic streets. Audiences can watch the carillonneur perform on a screen via closed-circuit television while listening to the music from the optimal acoustic spots.
This year's edition features a diverse lineup of international carillonneurs, from Japan and Canada to Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, and France, alongside the palace's own carillonist, Anna Maria Reverté.
