Lire tous les détails

In the heart of Madrid's Usera district, the Centro de Ocio y Asesoramiento Juvenil Pipo Velasco hosts *Las almejas que hablan*, a contemporary performance piece by Carmen Rojas and Karelis Zambrano. The work explores a feminist aesthetic that traverses 'Cuir camp' and 'Lesbian camp', blending dance, theatre, and audiovisual elements into a multidisciplinary show. It follows clams that begin unaware of the oppressive system they live in, gradually discovering that another way of life is possible, and that together they can create escapes from the 'Great Norm'.

Created by the emerging Madrid-based company formed in 2023, this is their first piece as a collective. The performance has been a finalist and prize-winner at the 38th Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid and selected for national festivals such as Festival Letraherida, Festival La Sub25, and ARTEFACTO. Recommended for audiences over 12, the show invites reflection on gender, sex, and affiliation, offering a space to imagine new ways of living and inhabiting our bodies with joy, alliance, and hope.
