Why visit Birkirkara
Birkirkara is roughly central on Malta and one of the best-connected towns on the island by bus, making it an easy add-on rather than a standalone beach or nightlife base. The main draw for visitors is the Farsons Brewery, producer of Cisk lager since 1928, which hosts brewery tours as well as the summer beer festival.
The town's two feasts — St Helen (its own patron) and the Assumption at the Ta' Nazju parish — bring the same mix of band-club marches, processions and fireworks as any Maltese festa, on top of a busy year-round calendar of gigs and markets at venues in and around the town.
