Cappadocia, Turkey

City guide

Cappadocia

Cappadocia is a region in central Anatolia, not a single city, centred on the towns of Goreme, Urgup and Nevsehir. Volcanic rock has eroded into fairy-chimney formations and been hollowed into cave dwellings, churches and underground cities, and the region is best known for sunrise hot-air balloon flights over the valleys.
