Pinhead Gunpowder are East Bay punk veterans whose story reaches back to 1991. The current lineup brings together Billie Joe Armstrong and Jason White on guitar and vocals alongside Aaron Cometbus on drums and Bill Schneider on bass, a configuration that has been in place since White joined in 1994. The band returned with a new album, Unt, in 2024 and announced a fall North American tour.

This Detroit date is an all-ages, general-admission show with standing room only, so expect a close-quarters punk club atmosphere. The band's catalog spans early EPs like Tründle and Spring and Fahizah through later releases such as West Side Highway, and the set pulls from a songbook largely written by Cometbus, with a few Armstrong-penned numbers under the name Wilhelm Fink.
